So autumn is here! Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year. I love changing up my wardrobe and makeup.
I have put together a few of my Autumn makeup essentials I hope you enjoy!
Lets start with eyeshadow’s!
Gold is one of my go to eyeshadow colours I have blue eyes and gold compliments blue eyes perfectly. This duo is very pigmented and look gorgeous together it’s the perfect golden autumn eyeshadow look! I use the lighter gold on the lid and under the eye and the darker gold in the crease and outer corner of my lower lash line and it takes literally 4 minutes and its very easy!
Mac eyeshadow’s: (Swatch Order)
Woodwinked is one of my most worn eyeshadow’s ever! It’s the only Mac eyeshadow I’ve ever replaced which is saying something.. It’s a deep gold which works perfect for a gold Kardashian inspired smokey eye. Next is Antiqued which is a more brown toned gold which I like to use as a transition colour in the crease or under the eye, and lastly Smut which is a such an easy smokey eye colour Smut is a cool toned dark grey shade which was actually inspired by Kate Moss! All perfect autumn eye look shades!
So this little eyeshadow trio is £2.50! I would highly recommend it, for a high street brand this eyeshadow trio is very pigmented! I love high street makeup but I rarely find eyeshadow’s that I rate highly. The two top shades are very similar but work well together,The pink shade makes a lovely lid shade blended in by the brown tones.
I don’t have many cream eyeshadow’s but they are perfect for making your eyeshadow last! I mainly use this one as a base for when I’m doing a dark eyeshadow look. I have recently been using this as a eyeliner the brown makes a nice change from using black! it’s a lot more subtle and autumnal!
I will always love this eyeshadow palette its my go to! I actually couldn’t swatch the shade ‘Naked’ As there isn’t any left to even swatch! You can make so many gorgeous eye looks out of this palette, you could have a simple pale pink look or a golden smokey eye. I will definitely re-purchase this palette when run out although I have had this palette for ages now I feel like it lasts forever.
I have also been loving eyeliner!
The first eyeliner I have been loving is from the Rosie Huntington-Whiteley beauty range from Marks and Spencer’s this is a black eyeliner and I have had it a while now and used it loads and it hasn’t dried out yet which is really good. I wear liquid liner most days and find this is liner is so quick and easy to use.
I have been using this pencil eyeliner in my waterline and I’ve been loving it! it doesn’t last as long as I would like but it is a lovely shade it’s very natural. I don’t like using black in my waterline as I find it is a bit too harsh so a deep brown is perfect.
This is my favorite pencil eyeliner and I will always re-purchase it! I use this in my waterline and sometimes I smudge it under the eye when I’m doing a darker eye makeup look. This eyeliner is very long-lasting for a pencil liner and is very pigmented.
Lets go onto lips!
Nars Cruella This is a matte deep red shade, I love this shade as it makes my teeth look whiter which is due to the blue undertones. I find this lip pencil is so easy to apply and top up throughout the day although you wouldn’t need to top it up much as its very long-lasting. I do find the matte lip products little bit drying but if you want a matte shade then you’ve got to deal with it being a little bit dry!
Rimmel 107 This lipstick is from the Kate Moss range, this shade is extremely raved about in the beauty community. This shade is actually a good dupe for the Nars – Cruella lip pencil the Rimmel shade is a little bit darker and purple toned than Cruella but they have a very similar consistency and are both long-lasting.
Mac Rebel Rebel is a very popular Mac lipstick shade this is a shade I don’t wear very often but I do really love it and I am definitely going to wear it more now the colder months are coming! This lipstick is a Satin finish and I find it isn’t as drying as most of my other dark lip shades. Worth a purchase!
Revlon Black Cherry I hunted high and low for lipstick last year! I’m not even exaggerating it took me about 5 months to find it. I remember reading someones blog post about it and ever since that it was sold out, I even considered buying the tester once… I didn’t but that’s how desperate i got it’s the darkest of all the shades and it is such a nice colour like most lipsticks it looks darker than it is. It does need topping up quite often as it is a dark shade.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Copenhagen Last but not least NYX! this isn’t the easiest dark lip to wear as it is very creamy and moves around easily but despite that this is a lovely colour and can make a really nice lip stain also.
Power and Concealer
I recently got this Ambient Lighting powder from Hourglass and I am obsessed with it! It doesn’t look like much but its the best powder I have ever used, this powder is meant to give you a candlelit glow at all times. It doesn’t make you really matte and it doesn’t cling to dry patches. It makes my complexion look radiant and glowing which is exactly what I want in a powder.
I thought I would add two concealer’s to this blog post as I do tend to wear concealer more in the colder months. I use this Nars concealer under my eyes and for any blemishes. I have the shade Custard which I use when I have fake tanned as it is a little bit dark for my natural skin tone.
I use this concealer purely for under my eyes, its salmon toned colour which counteracts the dark circle under the eyes, I love the setting powder it comes with also. This concealer claims to be waterproof but I’m not sure if I fully agree with that as it does fade throughout the day but if you keep the little kit on you and top it up once a day you will be good to go.
Now onto Bronzing!
I got this contour kit for my birthday last year and I have used it a lot but I must admit I only use two shades and the two shade in particular are the two middle shades I have used the yellow toned powder to set my under eye highlight and the other shade for contour and over all bronzing.
I love this Too Faced Bronzer and it actually smells like chocolate, I find this is a lovely shade for pale skin and I love using this all over my face to bronze my complexion. I find using bronzer is my most vital stage of my makeup in the colder months as I don’t have natural tan and I am quite pale which I do like but sometimes its nice to have a healthy glow.
Last but not least Highlight!
Firstly my well-loved Champagne Pop! this is my go to highlighter I use it most days some people would say it’s too intense for everyday but I am obsessed with highlighter and I don’t think it is too intense for everyday wear. This highlighter is extremely pigmented and a little goes a long way.
This highlight is a very white/yellow toned highlight which isn’t for everyone. I personally really like it especially in the inner corners of the eye and brow highlight. I use a very small amount of this on the top of my cheek bones and down the bridge of the nose and find it gives a really nice glowy look.
This is the only high street highlighter that is in my top 5 highlighters. I love this palette so much all the shades are so nice and pigmented and I have had a few compliments on it. I loved this palette so much I went out to see if Sleek had anymore and I found ‘Cleopatra’s Kiss’ which I really did not like, most highstreet highlighters tend to have a lot of glitter instead of shimmer which is what I hate about highstreet highlighters I really do not like glitter highlighters and I found the Solstice palette didn’t have any chunky glitter therefore when I got Cleopatra’s Kiss I was very disappointed as it was very glittery.
Overall those are my autumnal makeup essentials!
I really hope you enjoyed this blog post I loved writing it.
