I have just got back from a weekend away to Cornwall with my Mum and Nan, we stayed in Mousehole (pronounced Mowzal). I had the best most relaxing weekend and loved every second of it.
Some may say its a bit ridiculous driving 5 hours just for one weekend but I just think if you don’t do the things you wanna do now you never will. We left at 4:30am and got there for about 9/10 as we stopped for breakfast. I love long drives and seeing the country I live in.
We managed to squeeze quite a lot into our short weekend in Cornwall. We visited ‘Truo’ first as it was a town on the route we were taking so we thought we would have a look around. We looked around the shops then came across Charlotte’s Tea House and had to go in! We went up to the very top and had afternoon tea by the window overlooking the town.
Next we went to Mousehole where we were staying as we were so excited to see it, the main reason we went to Cornwall was to go to Mousehole! So we couldn’t wait any longer and drove there next.
Mousehole didn’t disappoint it was everything I had hoped it would be! It had a few little gift shops and pubs. Beautiful scenery and picturesque little winding streets.
It was as pretty at night also! We went to the Ship Inn for dinner and had a window table overlooking the harbour. The food was lovely the menu was great and the staff were so friendly and approachable.
We went in loads of little gift shops which sold all sorts of things! I love wandering around little shops like that.
We arrived to Sennen cover quite late in the afternoon and it was a bit chilly! even though everyone was in bikinis! We had a little walk along the beach and watched all the surfers! I almost forgot I was in England at this beach.
Land’s End is Britain’s most south-westerly point. It looks like something out of a film it is amazing!
The cliff top walk was so relaxing and its nice to just sit and watch the sea sometimes I find being near the sea wipes away my worries and clears my mind for a while.
I would highly recommend visiting Land’s End they have a sign pointing to New York, John O’Groats and Isles Scilly which says how many miles away they are! Most people get a photo next to the sign …. but it will cost you £10!
The last place we visited (well attempted to visit) was St Michaels Mount we didn’t actually have enough time to go to it but we had a look from afar! But its on the top of my list of what to do when I visit Cornwall again.
Overall Cornwall is a STUNNING place and I wish I stayed there for longer. It was definitely worth the 5 hour journey. I can’t wait to see more of Cornwall.
Have you ever been to Cornwall?
