I adore the Isle of Wight it is the perfect place for a little escape, just got to hop on the ferry and it feels like a mini holiday! I go to the Isle of Wight just for a day sometimes but it is nice for a quiet weekend away its just such a lovely peaceful place.
If I’m honest a lot of things are shut over the winter period and the roads are next to empty! but I actually LOVE it.
My favourite village in the WORLD is Godshill (and I’ve been to a lot of villages) it is so quaint and beautiful. The Batswing 16th century tea rooms is adorable I love it there its a very old tea room/ lace shop and its well worth checking out even if you just look inside quickly, around this time last year I stayed in a cottage opposite the batswing and i went in there for a little look and bought some bath tea bags and they were so cute! There are so many cute tea rooms in godshill and if I’m honest I’ve been to nearly all of them! If you walk just past the tea room you can see Godshill church which is like something out of a fairytale and a lovely little stroll. I highly recommend visiting the Griffin family pub for some food it’s so reasonably price and the food was so good I’ve been there twice now. Chocolate Island is somewhere I go EVERYTIME I go to the Isle of Wight it is a chocolate shop and it is my favourite chocolate ever I LOVE it.
Shanklin is another one of the towns I go to every time I go to the Isle of Wight. I always go into the rock shop with my family for some sweets then onto the beach for a walk. The Donkey sanctuary is such a lovely place to visit and donate some money even if its 20p every little counts!
Overall the Isle of Wight is one of my favorite places to get away from everything and is definitely worth visiting.
After a long day fun packed day exploring the Island I managed to catch the sunset on the ferry home which made the day perfect.
With Love Helena xx
