I adore the Isle of Wight it is the perfect place for a little escape, just got to hop on the ferry and it feels like a mini holiday. I go to the Isle of Wight just for a day sometimes but it is nice for a quiet weekend away it’s such a lovely peaceful place. If I’m honest a lot of things are shut over the winter period and the roads are next to empty, but I actually LOVE it.
My favourite village in the Isle of Wight is Godshill. It is so quaint and beautiful. The Batswing 16th century tea rooms is adorable it’s a very old tea room/ lace shop and its well worth checking out even if you just look inside. I stayed in a cottage opposite the batswing and I went in there for a little look and bought some bath tea bags and they were so cute. There are so many cute tea rooms in Godshill and if I’m honest I’ve been to nearly all of them. If you walk just past the tea room you can see Godshill church which is like something out of a fairytale and a lovely little stroll. Chocolate Island is somewhere I go EVERYTIME I go to the Isle of Wight it is a chocolate shop and the chocolate is so good and they have so many flavours.
Shanklin is another one of the places I go to every time I go to the Isle of Wight. I always go into the rock shop with my family for some sweets then onto the beach for a walk. The Donkey sanctuary is such a lovely place to visit and donate some money even if its 20p every little counts.
Overall the Isle of Wight is one of my favorite places to get away from everything and is definitely worth visiting.
After a long day fun packed day exploring the Island I managed to catch the sunset on the ferry home which made the day perfect.
With Love Helena xx
